Black Obsidian is a very powerful, grounding and protective stone.
It resonates with the energies of our root and grounds our being firmly into the physical plane, facilitating change, providing protection always with its characteristic urge for sovereignty.
It is often referred to as the “Stone of Truth” and is known to be fast acting, cutting right to the chase, bringing negative emotions, unpleasant memories and anything that restricts us from our sovereignty to the surface, which can be overwhelming and very intense and therefore needs to be approached with respect being a very powerful ally for healing, facilitating strength and protection. It is a very useful stone to cleanse your system of unwanted energies of old loves, aiding in letting go and resolving attachments in the physical and subtle realms of our existence.
As a protective stone it is thought to absorb negative energies and therefore should be regularly cleansed under running water.
